Intercon around the Country

Alan Freeman in Kings Lynn. The Boss D.J looks on

Harrogate Intercon became the “blue print” for other venues in Kings Lynn, Wakefield, Nottingham & York. The boss DJ was privilege to be the disc jockey on each of the opening nights, providing his unique style of record selection to entertain the music lovers at these venues.

The Kings Lynn Intercon disco diner was the smallest in the group and situated in the town centre. The Wakefield Intercon was opened on Saturday 19 December 1971. It was located in the “Bull Ring” and occupied two floors, each having a distinctive music policy on Friday and Saturday Nights.

The Nottingham Intercon was the largest in the group and located at 74 Victoria Centre. Nottingham. The York Intercon was situated on Stonebow and it opened its doors on Thursday 16 December 1971.

Intercon Northern Ltd. The company which ran the Intercon also opened a chain of Bier Keller's in the north of England and the Bali Ha'i disco. Later on, following the take over by Mecca , Scene 1 & 2 Scarborough & Scene 3 & 4 York became part of the group.
